Hi! And thanks for having me here today!

1) Did you always want to be an author?  If not, what else would you have done?

No! This was a surprise to me. I’ve always had an imagination and loved to make up my own worlds, but it wasn’t until recently that I put it on paper. I’ve been a chemistry professor for a local university for a few years and done the whole scientist thing for a while now. But now I’m a full time author!

2) What is the strangest job you ever had and why?

Hmm…I’ve always either been a teacher, writer, or worked in food service. During college, I worked at a Denny’s to pay for my tuition. I worked so much that at the end of the week, I’d have over $1000 in ones—most covered in syrup. I still can’t eat syrup. But as I’d go to the bank to put my ones in the bank, I’d always get that look of, “Uh, so where’d you get all the ones?” I mean, thanks for saying I’m a stripper, but dude, their sticky, that’s just gross! LOL

So yes, I think that’s the strangest part of that job.

3) What is your favourite book of all time and why?

You’re talking to the girl who has read over 5,000 romance books. How about I pick my favorite novel this week. (And yes, that will be different by the time you read it LOL). Hmm…Once Burned by  Jeaniene Frost was freaking amazing. I love her humor, sexiness, and world building. Plus, Vlad was a sexy hero!

4) Describe your ideal hero (details please! *wink wink*)

Hmm…So Spade is from the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost is my favorite Hero of all time. (Ironic since I mentioned her books already this post). Though Roarke from JD Robb and Charles from Patricia Briggs are a close second and third.

Yes, that’s an Vampire, a Werewolf, and a futuristic Irish Billionaire. LOL But what do they have in common? Well, they’re strong. Yes, they are sexy, have hair I want for myself. DEAR GOD! LOL. They have humor when they need it. Some more subtle than others. *cough* Charles *cough* They have sexy eyes. Yep. That’s a turn on.

But each of them support their heroines. All there heroines have been through so much. Whether it be rape, loss, or more, their heroines were more broken then they’d realized. The heroes of each book helped the heroines learn to pick up the pieces on their own, they didn’t do it for them. They also support and let their heroines be kick-ass when they want. Though the heroes are kick ass themselves.

So yes, my ideal hero is sexy inside and out.

5) If you could share a romantic evening with any character from romance literature (any genre), who would it be and what would you do to him (ahem! With him)?

Hmmm…okay I pick Shade…again. Let’s see…we’d go to the Cherry Room in Vegas with that glass shower with no walls to block it from the bedroom. Yeah…use your imagination.

6) What comes first for you: plot or character?

Character. I know who they are and then think of where I’m going to put them to break them.

7) Who is, hands down, the sexiest male actor of all time?

Uh, right now I’m in love with Chris Helmsworth. It’s the accent and hair. OMG.

8) Describe your writing style please.

I’m a plotter. I outline and pick apart my characters before I start. Then as I write, I find out more and more and add into my outline. So yes, I know what’s going to happen and how I’m going to get there, but the details come as I write.

9) Who is your favourite author and why?

Oh God, you can’t ask that. I love too many. But I will say that Lauren Dane and Maya Banks are two authors in which I will read all 100 series of theirs and love every single one. I’m sure there are others, but I love those two.

10) What is on the horizon for you? Any interesting news or books we should know about?

Oh my! LOL. Dust of My Wings is the first in the Dante’s Circle series, so there are SIX more books coming up in that one. In October, Charmed Spirits comes out and is the 1^st book in the Holiday, Montana series that has 5 books. THEN in November, I have Enforcer’s Redemption out which is the 4^th book in the Redwood Pack series…and is Adam’s book. I’m a little busy! LOL

Lily huffed out a breath and placed another tile. “I don’t hate my job, exactly. It’s just not that big of a deal.” She gave a triumphant smile. “And I win.”

Shade looked into her eyes and groaned. Damn, she was sexy when she looked so confident.

“Indeed you did. Congratulations, Lily.” Now for the part that could hurt them both. “How about I buy you a cup of coffee as your winnings?”

Lily looked taken aback, but Shade didn’t budge. He needed to know exactly what she knew about this dust. Breaking into her lab and stealing it would do nothing if the die were already cast.

“Oh, you don’t have to do that. In fact, I really don’t even know you, so I can’t. But thank you.”

I need to contain my excitement. Breathe, Rosanna, breathe. You can't blame me. It's not everyday a gal has Lynn  Lorenz visiting her blog! Lynn is an accomplished author and really nice woman who always lends a hand to newbie authors. Lynn, thanks for being here!

And now, please read on for my interview with Lynn and info on her fabulous books!

RL) Did you always want to be an author?  If not, what else would you have done?

LL)No. I studied Fine Art and wanted to be a famous artist. I love to draw and paint and work in water colors and acrylics. But no luck – so I had to get a real job! I wrote in high school and college, and then stopped. I picked up writing again around 2006, sold my first book (not the first book I wrote) in 2008 and I haven’t stopped yet!

If I couldn’t be a writer, I’d be a master gardener. I love plants and flowers and love putting them in the ground, like a canvas, creating color, form and motion with them.

RL) What is the strangest job you ever had and why?

LL)I sold aluminum siding by phone. We were in this weird metal building and there was about 6 of us ladies making cold calls. I was in college at the time. It was awful.

RL) What is your favourite book of all time and why?

LL)I think I can read To Kill A Mockingbird over and over and still cry every time. Being from the south, it speaks to me, really reminds me of both the beauty and ugliness of my roots and how to rise above them.

RL) Describe your ideal hero (details please! *wink wink*)

LL) He would have to be ruggedly handsome, a little weathered, experienced not just sexually, but emotionally. When you look in his eyes you can see it all, the pain, the joy, and when he’d look at me, I’d see desire and happiness. Ideally, he’d be a cowboy, but just as comfortable in a black tie tux as in his jeans and boots. He’d have gracious southern manners, a wicked smile, and a slow southern drawl. He’d move easily, with purpose, but without rushing. He’d love kids, his momma, and animals, know how to use a gun, but not brag about it, have a strong sense of right and wrong, and stand up for those weaker than he.

RL) If you could share a romantic evening with any character from romance literature (any genre), who would it be and what would you do to him (ahem! With him)?

LL) Provided I could be myself at 25??? Cuz me now, well, I wouldn’t be able to do much. (I’m married) I love historicals, so if I were 25 and some gorgeous Viking marauder happened to stumble into my bedroom, I guess I’d let him do whatever he wanted to do to me! Go berserk!! Show me his long boat!! Whip me into a frenzy!!

RL) What comes first for you: plot or character?

LL) Characters. I’m a very character driven writer. But I do love a good plot.

RL) Who is, hands down, the sexiest male actor of all time?

LL) Alan Rickman.

RL) Describe your writing style please.

LL)I think I mix humour, hot sexual tension, and a dollop of angst, with characters you fall in love with, to create easy to read stories about them struggling to find their happily ever after.

RL) Who is your favourite author and why?

LL) I have so many – both in romance and in non-romance, which is what I’ve more widely read. I love mysteries, suspense, and action. Tony Hillerman (Jim Chee and Joe Leaphorn mysteries) and James Dos (Charlie Moon mysteries) for their Native American characters. Early Stephen King, for the sheer fear he invokes. Harper Lee, cuz she wrote TKAM, of course.  And for absolute southern charm, Fannie Flagg – she’s hysterical.

RL) What is on the horizon for you? Any interesting news or books we should know about?

LL) I’m working on my Rougaroux Social Club series, about a pack of Cajun werewolves, and plan on writing several more books. Also, I just started the WereWolf Fight League series, about a future/alternate world where werewolves are bought and sold and fight in cage matches for their mates.

You should see more of both of those this year. Next year, I’ll do another in the historical series In The Company Of Men, which takes place in medieval times.

And of course, I’ve got a few of my Hearts of New Orleans novellas coming along too.

Russ Magnus inhaled the clean clear scent of pines as he rode his 2000 Honda Valkyrie down the west Mississippi highway heading to the coast. The thick scent tickled his nostrils, reminding him of the part of himself he had to keep hidden. The hum of the cycle’s engine and the constant vibration between his legs barely soothed the need building in Russ over the last three days. Only one thing would, and he knew it.

Dense foliage grew to a narrow swath of cleared ground next to the blacktop road. If he pulled over and got off the bike, he’d only need to take two strides to reach the pines. And safety.

He snorted. No place was safe for a rogue wolf.

Still, the forest tempted him. Lured him with promises of pleasure, freedom, and a fresh kill.

Russ glanced into his rearview mirror. The vacant road behind him rose in undulating hills, climbing higher and higher to the north. Ahead of him, the last few miles would level out the softly rolling hills and he’d return to the flat land of the gulf coast. Soon the pines would be replaced by scrub and palmettos and sand.

This might be his last chance to taste freedom.

And it might be the stupidest chance he ever took.

“Fuck it,” he swore with a chest-rumbling growl.

Ahead, a red dirt road, no more than two tire ruts in width, peeled off from the highway. Russ slowed, took the turn and eased the big bike down the narrow lane until he found a place to stash it.
He killed the engine, pocketed the keys in his jeans and swung a long leg over the seat. Pausing long enough to scent the air around him, he searched the woods for movement and listened for sounds that might be man-made.

All clear.

He removed his brown leather jacket, slinging it over the saddle of his bike. No need to remove the rest of his clothes; they would reappear when he shifted back to human. He ran his hands through his hair and stepped farther into the woods, careful not to leave any tracks. His sturdy work boots, the kind sold by the thousands all over the U.S., left only faint traces of his passing. He weaved between the young saplings and low brush, careful not to break any branches, snag any part of his clothing, or leave any trace of his blood.

Nearly twenty years of training kicked in as he worked his way deeper into the woods. The view of his bike vanished behind the curtain of underbrush. No sounds from the road entered this deep in the forest.

When the only thing he heard had been identified and attributed to natural causes, he opened himself to the urge. It filled him until it spilled out, setting off a chain reaction. Nearby, the young leaves of the dogwoods vibrated as if a tuning fork had been struck.

His close-cropped hair stood on end and the air around him wavered, rippling waves like still water broken by a single pebble. He allowed his body to go all the way. To let what he truly was, on the inside, out. To be mastered by his basest needs and emotions. To free the beast.

Pain. Relief. Release.

His change complete, the black wolf sniffed the air, confirming he was the only predator in this forest, shook himself, and then trotted off into the woods, nose down, on the hunt for his latest victim.

It Ain’t Easy Being Green

I knew  someday it would happen.

What, you ask? Well, the green alien. I knew I’d write one someday, but it took me by surprise when it actually happened.

Lefi Dhrahn is the title character of “The Bacchi” and he owes his existence to the lovely green dancing girl from Star Trek. I used to watch her and she always made me laugh with her heavy makeup and sexy costume. Of course, she was nothing more than a sexual being…a hottie for Captain Kirk to go all manly over.

Well, Lefi is that woman. He’s a Somian, which is a species from my Coalition universe. They are a twin species, always born in pairs. They are colorful, sensual and sunny natured. Some think they aren’t the sharpest knives in the drawer, but in truth, they are brilliant. And they’re happy. When I started developing Lefi, I ran through all the colors I could paint him with, but he kept coming up green…long, emerald green hair, a flush of green over his cheeks and lips. Even his nipples are green! His eyes are purple as amethysts. He’s painfully lovely and revels in his career as a Bacchi: a high class prostitute.

When I went about picking his perfect lover, I knew that man or woman must be the sort who would set him off to advantage. Someone as beautiful as he, but completely the opposite. When I first put Afton’s name to paper, I knew he’d be one of the Valoran, a species that are cerebral, humorless and direct. They are also hermaphrodites. Imagine what the Bacchi thinks of that… ;)

 Afton thinks that Lefi is amoral and frivolous, but is secretly fascinated by the Somian. And Lefi… he can’t wait to strip Afton naked and find out just what’s under that stiff black uniform. It’s not going to be easy seducing a man like Afton, but Lefi has some special goodies up his sleeve.

1. What is the name of your book?

My newest is called Sweet Hell. It's my third romance for Liquid Silver Books and I couldn't be more excited to see it's release this week.


  
2. Where did the idea for your book come from?

Sweet Hell is the follow up to my first paranormal romance about Greek gods, For the Love of a God. In the first story, the randy god Dionysus was the delicious wingman. In Sweet Hell, he is my hero. After For the Love of a God, I had so much positive feedback about Dionysus, I just had to give him his own romance!

3. In what genre would you classify your book?

Erotic paranormal romance.


5. Give us a one-sentence synopsis of your book.

Cannoli and coffee. Lust and wine. Loving a god can be Sweet Hell.

6. Is your book published?

Yes, and you can find it on many romance sites as well as my publisher Liquid Silver Books.

7. How long did it take you to write your book?

I began in this January, while sitting poolside in sunny Mexico! A couple of months, and it was done! This one flew out of me!

8. What other books within your genre would you compare it to? Or, readers of which books would enjoy yours?

I think anyone who reads Karen Marie Moning, Kathy Love or Molly Harper will enjoy my books. My sense of humor is similar.

9. Which authors inspired you to write this book?

I just love the three mentioned in the previous question!

10. Tell us anything that might pique our interest in your book.

Dionysus, Greek god of wine and theater, is the world’s original playboy. But lately, he has been restless, moody, and he knows something is wrong. His carefree and bacchanalian lifestyle is starting to feel like one long string of meaningless sexual escapades. Even worse, he is suddenly aroused by the idea of marriage. RL) Did you always want to be an author?  If not, what else would you have done?

JL)I've always enjoyed writing, but didn't really get that I wanted to be an author until I was out of college, looking for a job and wondering what I wanted to do with the rest my life.  Then, job market was a little better than it is now, but it still wasn't great. Consequently I had a lot of time on my hands.  I'd taken some creative writing courses in college, and when my peers suggested we form a critique group, I jumped at the opportunity.  From there, I began my path to publication.

If I hadn't become an author, I probably would have been an artist.  I've learned I need a creative outlet in my life at all times, and long before there were heroes and heroines occupying my creative thoughts there were pastels and oil paints.


RL) What is the strangest job you ever had and why?

JL)The strangest job, by far, was my job in day care.  There were a lot of things going on there that made it strange, but the thing that made it the most memorable for me was that my time spent making collages and heading "story time" became a major inspiration for writing Dangerous Proposal.  I basically took what happened to me in that time, put it on steroids, and made up a story.  Note, NONE of the events that occurred in Dangerous Proposal actually happened to me, but I was inspired by setting and the people around me enough that I was driven to write a story that did them justice.  Something that gave them that extra bit of drama and excitement that they deserved.


RL) What is your favorite book of all time and why?

JL)I don't have just one favorite book, but one of my all time favorites was Susan Kay's Phantom.  In this story, we see the Phantom of the Opera at the earlier points in his life and come to understand why he becomes the villain we all know and love. Namely, as both and infant and a child, the Phantom is unloved by his mother, and cast aside (and abused) in society.  This served as a major inspiration to me in my own writing, as I became fixated on the concept of villainous heroes and why they do the things they do.  Now, each time I write a story, I strive to create a hero who possesses villainous qualities, but who the reader can come to empathize with as he/she comes to know the man inside.


RL) Describe your ideal hero (details please! *wink wink*)

JL)He's tall, dark haired and muscular.  Brave in the face of danger, he'd take a bullet before letting anything happen to his heroine, even if he can't admit that he's in love with her.  He's got some skeletons in his closets, and like any flawed individual, he needs the love of the right woman in order to conquer his demons.  Oh, and he's amazing with children, even if he doesn't know it yet ;)



RL) What comes first for you: plot or character?

JL)For me, plot always comes first.  And I need to write the entire thing out, in long hand, before I set one finger on the keyboard.  The plot is the fun part, the easy part, the part that simply falls from the sky.

If writing were just about plotting, I could probably publish 50 books a year.  But since it's about other things: dialogue, character, narrative, editing etc, it takes me a little longer than that to compose a great story ;)

 RL) Who is, hands down, the sexiest male actor of all time?

JL)Tom Welling, best known for playing Clark Kent on the CW's Smallville.  Whether he's playing sweet or scary, that man has got it goin' on!  And...he looks AMAZING with his shirt off!  Just thought I'd throw that in ;)


RL) What is on the horizon for you? Any interesting news or books we should know about?

JL)I'm hard at work on the third book in the Pinnacles of Power Series, which I hope to call Dangerous Proposition.  In a recent review, fellow author Jennifer Labelle said the following.  "I hope Ms. Lauryn will consider a third installment to ‘The Pinnacles of Power’ series as it would be nice to see Alec’s brother, Colin, get what’s coming to him."  To Jennifer and all of my fans, I say, if you're a Colin Westwood fan, Dangerous Proposition is the place where everything comes together for the characters you love in one tumultuous explosion.  This future edition, which takes place after Dangerous Proposal but before Dangerous Ally, definitely won't disappoint!

Brendan loved visiting his mother,but his amusement always faded when he realized it was inevitable they’d have to slog through some sort of open-air market, art show, or street fair. He let himself enjoy the fine California weather, trailing along after her as she worked her way through the tony Laguna Beach crowd. Between the efforts of some very famous Southern California artists and the donated offerings of local, high-end restaurants, his mother’s favorite breast cancer charity was certain to bring in big money toward the cure.
He moved briskly when she darted past him to clasp the hands of a handsomely dressed, seventy-something matron in a white caftan-like dress. What did it say about him that his mother made him feel old? She was still a girl, really, one of Hollywood’s glorious moppets, wearing torn blue jeans and a silk peasant blouse with layers of chiffon scarves that framed her enchanting face. She wore her curly dark hair long,in defiance of her age. At fifty-four, her face still said thirty loud and proud. As far as he knew, the only thing she did was Botox between her eyebrows and a tiny bit of collagen to plump the lips. The rest was just genetics and a loving God.
Standing next to his mother only served to emphasize that today he lacked his usual exotic flair. He looked like her accountant or a lawyer; not a flashy lawyer either, but the kind who sits benignly behind expensive desks all day doing revocable trusts. He’d thrown on a sport coat and tie because he’d taken her to a nice place for lunch, but he forgot that in California a nice place meant exchanging flip-flops for cross trainers and putting on a shirt.
This wasn’t to say they didn’t make a fine picture together. Brendan knew they stirred things up wherever they went: the aging starlet and her well-heeled executive son. They were both at the top of the game in their respective worlds, hers being celebrity for its own sake and his as the fashionable, independent minded, and charitable CEO of B2 BioEng.
Morgan Blankenship schmoozed, and he followed along after her as she led him through the stalls of the many artists she called friends. He waited patiently while she introduced him and responded politely when they asked him questions.
Entirely too many of the photographs and canvases featured her face in its youth, when she’d been the star of several cult horror films. Some displayed her more mature beauty; looks that catapulted her into her current tenure as patron saint of the cougar movement, because she dated a twenty-million-dollar-a-picture summer blockbuster action-star half her age.
Earlier that day, Brendan had stumbled into a ten by ten foot space that held his worst case scenario-her nude body, tattoos and all-displayed in various poses too erotic for anyone to have to see their mother in without oxygen and a Freudian psychiatrist standing by. He winced while he tried not to see them, these blowsy living color and artistic black-and-white reminders that his mom flew her freak flag regularly.

Well, Today I’m delighted to introduce you to Jenna Baker and Samantha O’Connell from my first Secret Cravings Publishing release ‘Meant To Be.’

Jennifer: Good morning to you both, it’s nice to see you visiting us again.

Sam: Morning, Jen, what’s up?

Jenna: Good morning, Jennifer. It’s great to see you again.

Jennifer: Likewise. There have been a lot of changes in both of your lives lately, first with the trip and finding a new love, then with the move, and the transition with Jayden. How are you both coping?

Jenna: *fans face* I promised myself I wouldn’t get emotional. Um, the trip Sam sort of surprised me with to Ireland was the best thing I could have ever hoped for. After all, if it hadn’t been for Sam I’m not sure I would have ever met Brady. And, although he could never replace Tyler of course, Jayden loves him almost as much as I do. Plus, I think the move helped us to move on. There were too many memories I’d much rather not live through again, you know?

Sam: I think what Jenna is trying to say is that we’re all coping pretty well. Yes, she misses Tyler, and of course Jayden does too, but they’re both happy now. I see it on a daily basis, and I love my beautiful little God child, Jenna and Brady have blessed us with. And, as you can see I’m coping very well too. *she rubs her round belly* Caleb and I will have a playmate for Maddy in a few short weeks.

Jennifer: Congratulations to you both. Married life certainly suits you. Jenna I’m assuming Maddy is the daughter you and Brady share together?

Jenna: She is *smiles*

Jennifer: And, Sam, do you and Caleb have any names picked out for your little one?

Sam: *laughs* is that your subtle way of asking me if I know the sex?

Jennifer: I suppose so, yes. *shrugs*

Sam: Melina Jenna O’Connell actually. We’re having a girl. *grins* A little girl so Maddy will soon have a playmate to enjoy. Hopefully they’ll be the best of friends like Jenna and I are, and Caleb and Brady.

Jennifer: Congratulations again. I think it’s wonderful that two best friends married two best friends. So where are these men of yours today?

Jenna: Brady’s got Caleb practicing. *laughs* They’re with the children to give us a moment with you.

Jennifer: And to yourselves of course. So tell me, Jenna, how does it feel to have your story finally told? Yours is a unique one.

Jenna: That it is. I think you did a great job with it, and Brady was the best part. Although, I blush every time I get to the intimate parts. Sam gets a kick out of it, and makes sure to tease me. God love her.

Sam: Oh, I do not. *laughs* Although, I do crack up every time I read about the time you walked in on me and Caleb. *Sigh* he’s delicious isn’t he?

Jenna: *eye roll* He’s no Brady, but yes, Sam, Caleb is a very good looking man.

Sam: Well, of course Brady is a dish. He’d have to be, to be related to me.

Jennifer: *chuckles* The two of you are great.

Sam: Why, thank you, thank you very much.

Jenna: *wink*

Jennifer: *smiles* I’d like to thank you both for joining me today. It was a pleasure to write the book and I loved catching up with you. If I’m ever back in Dublin I’ll be sure to stop in to say hi.

“Um, if I forget to say this later, thanks, Sam.”

They finally arrived.

     “You’re thanking me in the airport.” Sam said with a laugh. “That’s very sweet, Jenna, but just wait until we get out there.” She gestured to the beautiful scenery of Dublin visible through the doors, “I’m really hoping that you can have a good time. Start out fresh in new surroundings, have an adventure, live a little, let loose, and have fun. Now that’s the vacation I’m hoping to have.”

     Putting an arm around her, she stopped. “Speaking of beautiful scenery, what have we here?” Sam played innocent as she turned Jenna to see what she was talking about.

Two men stood only a few feet away from them, just staring. There was an instant attraction when her eyes met with one that scared the hell out of her, and she panicked.  “Sam, I don’t think I’m ready for this,” she whispered, wide-eyed. Now that she was there she was getting cold feet.

     “Relax, Jenna. It’s okay if you’re not ready today, but honestly, hun, how long has it been?” Sam asked.

Jenna was clueless. “How long has what been?”

“My guess, in fact I know, it’s been over a year now.”

She looked Jenna straight in the eye and nodded because it was true.

“But I’m just not sure that I’m ready to take the leap, Sam.” Sighing in defeat, Jenna felt bad for Sam. She was obviously interested in hooking her up. The problem was sex and men were two subjects she wanted, but she just wasn’t sure of anymore, hoping to get there someday.

“They’re really great guys, Jenna you’ll see. They’re also our ride to the hotel. Just let me introduce you, and see how it goes.” Sam flagged Brady and another guy over.

Jenna recognized him right away as he neared. Sam had shown her several pictures from her last trip, and it was hard to forget someone you had fantasies about. He was gorgeous.

Given no other choice Jenna sighed and tried not to fidget nervously.

“Hi,” Sam laughed giving both men a hug. “I missed you guys. It’s so great to be back again.” Sam lingered, putting her arm around the lighter haired one, and then turned to face Jenna again.

“Jenna this here is my cousin Brady Connelly, and his delicious friend Caleb O’Donnell. Caleb, Brady, this is my lovely best friend, Jenna.”

“Hi,” Jenna waved, and turned red with being put on the spot. Two gorgeous men were looking at her, and she’d been out of the game so long that she wasn’t sure what to do next. Caleb waved and engaged in a conversation with Sam, while Brady stared.

Lillian Grant is here...with Male Review!

Does anyone have some Coke Zero? My friend Lillian Grant is here, and I'm so excited! Not only is she a fellow author at Liquid Silver Books, she's a very funny, talented lady. She has a new book entitled Male Review and you will want to pick it up.

Read on for my interview with the lovely Lillian!

RL- Did you always want to be an author?  If not, what else would you have done?

LG- Nope. I had no idea I could even write until about four years ago. My school report for English used to read Lillian could do better if she just paid attention. I guess I am paying attention now.  Unfortunately writing for me is a money making hobby and I have a day job as an accountant. Boring I know. I was also lead singer in a cover band for a while…am I cool again now?

RL- What is the strangest job you ever had and why?

LG-I worked as a builder’s labourer for a while.  This may not sound all that odd until you factor in that I am only 4 feet 10 and I laboured for my other half who is 6 feet 2. I decided to help out because I was between jobs and it was easy to juggle with the kids. I even learned how to do some carpentry and am a mean son of a bitch with a nail gun. J I actually loved working with my man and being on a building site. It took the other guys a while to get over the idea of me being there but once they did it was a fun place to be most days.

RL- What is your favourite book of all time and why?

LG-The Rum Diary by Hunter S Thompson. Not romance I know. Why? Why not? The book meanders with very little plot; It ends when you think it is just about to get started and yet every time I read it I love it a little bit more. The era it is set in, the heady tropical setting, the wonderful characters, the bizarre happenings just draw me in again and again.

 RL-What comes first for you: plot or character?

LG-Character. I don’t really plot. I have a vague idea about what is going to happen and a basic premise but the first thing that comes to me are the characters. My Reigning Men series started with the idea of a girl with a frigid mother a nymphomaniac great aunt and a studly flat mate who offers to do more than pay the rent. Then the accidental pimp idea popped into my head and a story was born.

RL- Describe your writing style please.

LG-Disjointed and sometimes frenzied. I set myself daily word count goals but they are just a guide. If my hubby leaves for work before me I sometimes get an hour in the morning when I can think clearly and make some real progress. But I mostly write in my lunchbreak. As my writing is a little steamy, and I am a secret undercover author, I drive to a nearby rooftop car park and tap away on the laptop in the comfort of my own car whilst devouring food that is usually bad for me and drinking cans of Coke Zero.  I swear the caffeine really helps.  I usually read back through the last chapter that I have written and continue on. I have to write the story as it progresses and try not to go back and edit unless my crit partner has conniptions and tells me something doesn’t work…and she has been known to do that on occasion.

RL- Who is your favourite author and why?

LG-Oh a difficult question. Can I have a few? I love Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series for the humor. JD Robb’s In Death series for Roarke. Cherise Sinclair because she makes me want to get someone to spanked. Olivia Cunning’s series about the rock band Sinners, because the guys are amazing characters. And last but not least, Hunter S Thompson because his weirdness amuses me.  I bet you’re sorry you asked now J

RL- What is on the horizon for you? Any interesting news or books we should know about?

LG-Male Review, Book Two in my Reigning Men series was released on 28 May by Liquid Silver books. I am currently writing book three, Hot Male. I also have a story called Go With the Flo due out on 6 August. It’s set in the 90’s and is about a girl who joins Avon to find her Edward Scissorhands but instead has to rescue his porno alter ego. It’s a humorous erotic romantic suspense, in case you couldn’t guess that already J

Meg rolled her eyes as a loud snort rent the air. She lifted her head, smashed a fist into her pillow, and glared at the comatose old woman lying next to her. This wasn’t how things were supposed to work out. Once Sam declared his undying love for her they should have ridden off into the sunset together. Instead, they jumped into her compact Korean car and hustled around to the old folk’s home to meet her mother.

Clearly it wasn’t her fault that St. Andrew’s had tossed Aunt Maud out. The whole disaster had been down to Laura and her stupid idea to start a male escort business. Meg went to the hotel to try and fix things. Given a few more minutes she would have un-cuffed Michael Monaghan from the bed and persuaded Aunt Maud elderly ladies had no need to use the services of a male prostitute. She might even have recovered Michael’s clothes so he could get dressed. Thank God her mother arrived at the old people’s home after the police left and she never got the whole story behind Maud’s eviction. Although, having her mother yell and show disappointment in her debauched daughter might have been a quicker and less painful punishment than agreeing to let Aunt Maud move in with her and Sam until she found a new home. To date, every old people’s home in Sydney, Australia had turned the crazy old lady away.

Meg’s mind turned to her new beau. They’d been on the cusp of sex any which way, anywhere, any time, and then, when Aunt Maud showed up, the sex fest was over. She couldn’t sleep in his bed because Maud would know what they were doing and Meg would be horribly embarrassed. How was he coping? Sam had needs. Big needs. Often needs. She hadn’t heard yips of “yee-haw” coming from his room since Aunt Maud moved in a month ago, so either he was suffering from a case of blue balls, or he’d learned to jack off quietly. The thought of him lying in his reclining chair naked with his fist wrapped around his hard, hot, heaving cock sent a heat wave through her body and a definite dampening in areas that had no business being damp when you shared a bed with your eighty-something great aunt.

Another loud snarl made Meg sigh loudly and check her alarm clock. She climbed out of bed and dragged on her robe. One last look at Sleeping Beauty, sans teeth and wig, assured her Maud was dead to the world and she should get going while the getting was good. The door squeaked on its hinges, but Aunt Maud continued to saw logs. Meg pulled the bedroom door closed behind her and relaxed. In the last thirty days the only time she’d been without Maud was when either of them went to the bathroom. Except the hour she left her with Sam while she went to buy groceries. That hadn’t ended so well. She’d found Sam’s whimpering and begging never to be left alone with Maud again quite disturbing. The old girl seemed to think men were game for sex twenty-four seven, and Sam usually was, but not with octogenarians who had a penchant for pinching butts and ripping towels off freshly showered men.

Meg crept down the hall, through the living room, and into the kitchen. The place shone. No one would fault Maud on her work ethic. She had cracked the whip for hours, only stopping her nagging when Meg had cleaned every surface until they could eat off it. So, she was a bit slap dash about housework, and Sam was no better, but who cared. Now the place didn’t feel like home at all.

After retrieving a large spoon from the cutlery drawer, Meg opened the freezer and bent over to find her favorite flavor made by her favorite men. Just as she reached inside to pull out a tub of Chunky Monkey, two hands splayed across her back and something rigid buried itself in her arse crack.

She’d recognize Sam’s particular brand of foreplay anywhere. He had a thing about bending her over and taking her from behind, but she wasn’t so hot on the idea with her head buried in the freezer and Maud likely to walk in at any moment. A giggle escaped Meg. “I’m sure she’d be a more than willing partner and at least you could get some relief.” She popped the top off the ice cream and filled the spoon. Maybe she hoped the cool dessert would bring them both back to their senses. She offered him the first taste. “Here, have some ice cream instead.”

He took the spoon from her and slipped it seductively between his lips then pulled it back out and slowly licked the remaining dessert from the stainless steel surface. The way she licked her lips and swallowed showed his actions were getting the desired reaction. Encouraged, Sam reached out, took the tub, and refilled his spoon. He leaned forward and brushed his ice cream cooled lips against hers as he whispered, “Coming?”

Meg squeaked out, “Not yet,” then followed him as he disappeared through the house.
